An Ode to Summer

With your mild temperament and air of ease, the ordinary becomes something more. A cup of coffee tastes that much more refreshing, with hours of evening light ahead. Our days are filled with possibilities – yet we never quite attempt it all. Fresh laundry billowing in the breeze and speckles of pollen lingering for far too long, you come with gifts and burdens. When you take centre stage at this time of year, you are in control. Long days in the forest and stretches of sand beneath our feet, we sing our praises and long for more; to experience nature in your presence is a joy. Please stick around for a little while, evermore.

Aw thank you so much, Kayleigh! I’m trying to experiment with writing a little more so it’s lovely to hear you enjoyed it ☺️
